There were fireworks in the sky and more fireworks on the field, as the Williams Field Black Hawks Varsity rebounded from last weeks difficult loss to Canyon del Oro with a 49-3 drubbing of Tucson Amphitheater on Homecoming night, Friday. The scoring began with the Black Hawks second possession, a 25 yard touchdown carry by senior Alex Howard at 3:34 of the first quarter. Another long Howard carry set up an 8 yard Schweichler TD at 1:36, that was quickly followed by a 56 yard Schweichler punt return at :54, and brought the score to 35-3 as the first half expired.
Two more touchdowns followed in the second half, and the final score was Black Hawks 49, Amphitheater 3. Alex Howard scored three TDs and Sean Schweichler had four, and the Black Hawks made all kicks, Derek Gregson had six and Kim Arayata had one. The Black Hawks did not turn the ball over but were assessed 7 penalties for 56 yards.
The Black Hawks next game is on the road against their arch rivals, the Higley Knights, who will be looking to avenge last years loss. Lets all make plans to attend and let the victories keep coming!
