In Attendance: Tracy Wilson, Sondra Bialkowski, Kirk Mathers, Glenda Lubben, Laura Fuhrmark, Michelle Custer, Coach Campbell.

BANQUET: The Varsity banquet turned out nice!! Thank you to everyone who helped make it another successful year!!

At the end of each season coaches from all levels are invited to attend the varsity banquet. The parent club purchases gift cards and other items as a way to say Thank You from all parents for all the hard work, time, and effort the coaches put into each season. It was suggested at the meeting to let parents know they are welcome to donate money to the booster club tagged specifically to help purchase thank you gifts for the coaches. There were several parents who would have liked to donate this year but did not know they could. The board apologized for not explaining how the coaches gifts work each year and for not letting parents know they could donate. Every effort will be made next season to ensure those types of items are better communicated to the parents.

WEBSITE: Several parents have voiced concern regarding the new website not being very user friendly. Sondra is working with Rob (our website adviser) to make it user friendly. One of the big problems we were having is being able to post sponsor logos. It would take nearly 2 hours for the website to accept the logo and then it would kick it out again. There were several times we were not able to post messages, meeting minutes, or other pertinent information on the website. Rob listened to our concerns and the following changes are being made to the website:

*Updating the site to make posting user friendly

*The season schedule for ALL levels will be on the home page

*Live feed for game scores

*Players/Parents can register with FB/Cell phone information

*We can separate Frosh/JV/Varsity parents and send texts/emails/or FB posts

*Traffic feature will be turned on

*Be able to make announcements and bold advertisements on the home page

Changes to the website should be done within the next couple of weeks. This will allow us to start selling website ads in January. The plus side this year to our sponsors is they will receive almost a year and a half worth of advertisements for the price of just one season.

FUNDRAISER IDEAS: We are looking into getting a spot at one of the theatres to sell tickets to the premier of one of the big summer blockbuster movies. We will have more information at the next meeting. Since our school will finally be old enough we will also be able to have raffles, bingo or casino nights, 50/50′s and some other fun money makers. It was also suggested we could have an NFL Draft party at Blue32 or Buffalo Wild Wings and a percentage of sales during a certain time frame would be donated to the booster club. We will have more information on the NFL Draft party at our next meeting as well. Some other suggestions were to have a V.I.P. family air soft gun night, candle or cookie dough sales. If you have any fundraiser suggestions please let us know. Keep in mind we would like to start selling sponsor ads in January after the website is updated in hopes that business owners like the idea of getting more advertising time for their money this season, if you know any business owners who would be interested please spread the word. You can contact any board member to receive a sponsor form.

CONCESSION STAND: It was brought to the attention of the board there were several parents who would have donated to the concession stand if they had known donations would be accepted. If any parent would like to donate sodas, water, Gatorade, or any items sold in the concession stand please feel free to do so. Graduation water sales are coming up in May and water donations would be great to have. We will also be helping with the AIMS breakfast in the Spring and we will need help with getting donations for bagels, cream cheese, fruit, muffins, water, gallon size zip lock bags, and paper goods. The booster club is happy to accept donations at anytime. The board apologizes for not making a better effort in letting the parents know donations are welcomed anytime year round.

Our boys also took down chairs at the end of the service, set up water stations, and escorted State Dignitaries, State officials, and those families that lost a loved one on that tragic day, to their seats. They were greatly appreciated and did a wonderful job representing Williams Field High School.

We would like to send out a Thank you to all our Volunteers and Sponsors for making the Golf Tournament this year a huge success. Thank you to all our Players old and new, and to our football players that gave their time to help and participate.

New Business:

Football Program: Creative Litho, our printing company we are working with has moved our due date out by 2 weeks, sponsorships and shout-outs are now due by August 27th. We have received many sponsorship ads for our program and more and more are flowing in. Shout-outs are doing very well as well. We would also like to thank our sponsored companies by giving them a sign team picture or plaque at the end of the season for all their support.

Fundraising: The children of Veterans fundraiser we held the night of the team scrimmage went very well. We will hopefully have a final donation amount by the end of the week. We are also working very closely with Chick-Fil-A and having a Chick- Fil – A Bowl between WFHS and Higley at our Game. Lots of spirit challenges, give-aways, and a Trophy given to the winning team at the end. All fundraising money will go into the booster fund and used for the needs of the team, water boy batteries, field paint, practice uniforms… The card fundraiser that the coach has the boys do all go into an account that is for the boys and only the boys. They vote on what they use it for, ex: J.V./Varsity uniforms, gifts for the seniors etc.

Website update/PayPal: The New website was launched today, August 16th, 2011. We would like to look into working with the journalism program at the school to maybe have them come out to the game and them write a little blog about the game and then post it to the site. We are able to post videos to the new website. If parents want to post their videos of any game to You-Tube we can then take that video and post to our new site. Our PayPal account will be linked to a separate email and set up within the next week for those businesses that would like to donate right through the website they will now be able to. Also businesses can buy a spot on our site to advertise this year for $100.00, next year that price might be changed.

Apparel/Team Meals/ Concessions: Helpers still needed for all. Team meals are in desperate need. It is a great way to get to know the players and coaches and it’s a great experience for the parents to take part in. Also the concession still needs help, you need your food handler’s cards and they are easy to obtain. You can go online to Maricopa.gov and follow links to test online or you can go down to their office in Mesa and test there.

Field Paint: Tracy Gardner a player’s parent has volunteered to do this again for us this year. Sondra motioned to approve the cost for the field paint at $2800.00, Manuel seconded, Motion carried. He would also need volunteers to come out on Thursday nights to help him. The more help the quicker it can get done. Tracy Gardner was not able to attend this meeting; Tracy Wilson presented this approval to the booster club for him

Picture Day: Picture day is Friday August 19th at 2:45. Order forms are out and they need to bring them with them to pictures that day.

Yard Signs: This a special gift from Coach Campbell to his freshman boys and any new comers to the program. They will be handed out to the freshman parents and are a surprise to the freshman players, the day before their first game. There will be a parent meeting and they can come to pick them up that night.

Coach Campbell update: There will be a team meal before our scrimmage with Seton on Wednesday. There will be JV players also going with Varsity. There will be a total of 80 plays, 20/Offense-defense for 1st team, 10/ offense-defense 2nd team, and 10/offense-defense for JV. Thursday will be a film day for the team, Friday is the card fundraiser Blitz and pictures, Saturday practice for JV/ Varsity 7:00am. Freshman may have a Saturday practice coming up as well, check with Coach O’Brien. The JV has been practicing against the Varsity and has been getting beat up; please keep their heads in the game, practice will make them better. Freshman will have a tough practice next week please help keep their heads up and in the game. When games start, practices will get lighter for the boys. Freshman will not practice on Fridays. JV/ Freshman will not practice on Saturdays. Varsity will have Saturday Films to get ready for the next week.

Great job on the GOLF TOURNAMENT. Great turn out, more players then last year, 101 players attended this year. We received a wonderful camera donation that is able to film the game at a high level, and at great angles. The game film will be available for the players if they would like copies of the game film. More information to follow. A parent asked if we were going to have another winning season, Coach said, “We take One Game at a Time!!”

Card fundraiser that Coach Campbell has the boys do starts August 10th – August 19th. There are rewards for the boys selling all their cards also for those who don’t; there are penalties, (up-downs). From now on the Booster meeting will be held twice a month through the rest of the season. If players want to buy their own helmets they need to be certified before the play and so you know if you do that at the end of your time at WFHS, the helmet stays at the school.

Coach Campbell update:

Camp fees are all due. Camp is July 20th-23rd. They should be home between 4-5pm Saturday. We do assist those players that cannot cover the cost of camp, but those players are put to work to cover the cost.

There are still 5-6 spots open for any sophomores that would like to join the team.

If any player is buying their own helmet, it has to be certified and registered before August 1st. Also, all players need to be cleared before the first official day of practice which is Aug. 8th, the first day of school. You can hand in your physical packets the week of Aug 1st to the front office.

Varsity and JV will practice the whole week of August 1st- August 5th, freshman will maybe practice 3 times that week. Coaches will let them know their schedule update.

Again push the TAX CREDIT to all families so that it’s a win-win for all. Parents get it returned and the boys get the support.

A welcome to the new freshman coach, Coach O’Brian. He’s also a new teacher at WFH.
