The Varsity Football team beat Campo Verde High School 28-9 despite three weather delays! Alex Howard rushed for 250 yards and scored all four Black Hawk touchdowns. The Defense is averaging only giving up 3 points per game.

On September 10, 2011, the Varsity team set up the chairs and organized The following day, twenty football players from both the Varsity and JV teams volunteered their time to set up the September 11th 10-year anniversary memorial unveiling for the town of Town of Gilbert. The players not only helped with the initial set up but they provided water and ushered city and state dignitaries during the event. The JV team dominated last week against Campo Verde with a score of 40-18. The JV Black Hawks had great offensive 2nd half and the defense played stellar the whole way.

The next Varsity Football game will be away in Tucson against Canyon del Oro High School this Friday, September 16, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.

The Varsity Football game against Combs High School was another blow-out! The offense had 21 rushing attempts for 330 yards and 5 touchdowns. We were 4 of 6 throwing for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns. The defense posted their second shut-out in as many games. Bryce Layton blocked a punt in the first quarter.

The Freshman Football team dominated Combs High School in the season opener. Jamian Maes lead the Freshman squad to its first victory over Combs High School with a score of 44 to 7. Kenny Owens, Tim Polanco, Tyler Lynch and Fabian Ortiz all scored touchdowns to help the Black Hawks to victory.

The next Varsity Football game will be the first home game against Campo Verde High School this Friday, September 9, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. The next JV Football game will an away game against Campo Verde High School this Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 6:00 pm.
