Williams Field Freshmen steam roll AJ in their 5th game of the season
With cool October winds blowing, Black Hawk Frosh team welcomes the AJ Prospectors to their field. Within the first 15 seconds of the game, WF boasts a score of 6-0, foreshadowing what is yet to come. Dominating the first quarter, points were added by Fine, who barreled into the end zone, and Ortega with an interception, bringing the score to 25-0 as the clock runs out.
2nd quarter was just as phenomenal. Offense drove down the field and QB, Maes, ran it in for a TD. Apache Junction’s 1st offensive play becomes a score for the Black Hawks as defensive player Fine intercepts the ball and waltzes in for a touchdown. The extra point kick is good as the Black Hawks raise the bar to 38-0. Defense pounces again as a punt return, coupled with tremendous blocking, turns into a nice gain by Ortiz and a first down. Next play offers up a reception by Lynch and yet another TD and extra point for a 45-0 lead. But hold on to your pom poms, it gets even better…before the final tick of the clock the Black Hawks clench yet another defensive interception by Fagg for the score. A kick by Ruiz then boosts the score to 52-0 at the half.
It’s not until 3rd quarter that AJ was able to move the ball yielding 8 points on the board. Black Hawks stand with the 52 points already gained. 4th quarter tells the same story with AJ adding an additional 8 points. Though the last half was scoreless for the Frosh, the Black Hawks had the deal sealed with 52 points, AJ 16.
